Which well-known washing machine brands will remain on the Russian market?

The list of companies leaving the Russian market is constantly growing. This situation is not only due to the imposition of anti-Russian sanctions; some brands are unable to supply their products to Russia due to closed borders or unstable pricing policies caused by the ruble's collapse.

Companies that continue to operate in the Russian market today are limiting the supply of their products.

Perhaps this is a reason to take a closer look at domestic goods.

What companies remain?

Regarding foreign brands, several major companies supplying high-quality household appliances continued to cooperate with Russia in the first half of April this year. These include, for example:

- Toshiba, trading in refrigeration units, as well as washing machines and dishwashers;

Electrolux

- Electrolux – a Swedish brand quite popular in the domestic market. This company offers a wide range of household appliances, including washing machines, air conditioners, refrigerators, all kinds of kitchen goods, etc. There is currently no information about the company's plans to leave the Russian market.

Which companies left?

The departure of such well-known companies as Sony and Panasonic was a significant loss for Russians. One sold televisions and home theater systems, while the other offered a wide selection of home appliances. According to the Japanese, this departure is temporary; however, no timeframe has been set for when the companies plan to resume cooperation with our country.

Sharp, a manufacturer of televisions, washing machines, microwave ovens, and refrigerators, has also suspended cooperation. The supply restrictions are temporary, but no one knows when they might resume.

In March, the South Korean company LG Electronics left the Russian market. This brand's products have always been in demand in Russia. The company is a major supplier of household appliances (washing machines, microwaves, refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, etc.). Company representatives informed Russians that product supplies were temporarily limited, but no specific timeframe was given.

Sony and Panasonic.

Bosch is a German brand that is very popular among Russian consumers. The range of household appliances previously available on the Russian market is vast: washing machines, air conditioners, microwaves, refrigerators, freezers, and more.

Russian analogues

In our country, there are household appliances manufactured using components sourced from domestic factories. For example:

-Flama – a company that produces kitchen appliances, particularly gas stoves. The Kanevskaya plant is located in the Krasnodar region and has been operating since 1994.

- De Luxe – is also a domestic company specializing in the production of stoves, water heaters, ovens and other equipment.

- "Biryusa" - Refrigerators are produced under this brand. Initially, only domestic components were used in production, but since 2008, imported motor-compressors (from Germany, Japan, Korea, and Italy) have been used.

- "Saratov". Refrigerators of this brand are known not only in Russia, but also abroad.

Saratov

While it's impossible to purchase a fully automatic washing machine made in Russia, it's quite possible to purchase a semi-automatic "Fairy" washing machine, manufactured in Udmurtia.

Foreign-made equivalents can be replaced with domestically produced appliances. Many appliances are assembled in Russia, using original components. However, washing machines and dishwashers present challenges.

Conclusion

Even if foreign companies do not resume operations in the Russian market in the foreseeable future, other suppliers (both domestic and East Asian) will fill the vacant niche. Their products will be significantly cheaper than European ones.

As for quality, it can easily compete with foreign equivalents. The main problem isn't the lack of household appliances on the Russian market, but the range of products available.

As the number of manufacturing enterprises in Russia decreases, demand will increase and, as a consequence, the cost of products.
