This interesting phenomenon has not bypassed washing machines either.
But many began to wonder what this inscription meant?
Are these cars really being produced in Russia?
Or is this just a marketing ploy to get people to buy a Russian-made washing machine to support the country's financial situation?
After all, many people, especially those born in the USSR, remember the high quality of appliances back then, examples of which are still in use in our grandmothers' kitchens. But can the same be said about Russian-made washing machines today?
Assembly or production – that is the question
Washing machine production in our vast and vast country has been going on since the Soviet era. Everyone remembers machines like the "Malyutka," "Fairy," and "Ob," which were even available as semi-automatic devices! But as for the fully automatic washing machine, the first such "self-contained" machine, capable of all functions, was the "Vyatka-12," manufactured on February 23, 1981.
But keep in mind that the machine is not entirely Soviet, as it was made using the designs of Ariston machines.

A significant portion of the factories that assemble washing machines are simply representative offices of popular foreign companies (such as Germany, Korea, and Italy) or companies that have purchased the rights to use the trademark and brand. Devices manufactured in such locations are often dismissed as having been assembled by Russian workers.
Washing machines of Russian manufacture
The most popular brands
The following brands of washing machines are assembled in the Russian Federation:
- Indesit and Hotpoint Ariston – the machines of these two Italian brands are assembled at a plant in the city of Lipetsk.
- LG – the Korean company's eponymous washing machines are assembled in the city of Ruza in the Moscow region.
- Samsung – devices with the second Korean brand are assembled in the Kaluga region.
- VEKO and Vestel – these washing machines with Turkish brands are assembled in two cities – Kirzhach and Aleksandrovka (Vladimir region).
- Bosch and Siemens are assembled in St. Petersburg.
- Candy – produced at a plant in the city of Kirov.
Automatic washing machines from this Russian manufacturer are also produced at the Okean plant in the Far East. They are available in front-loading and top-loading models.
Most domestically produced washing machines are standard activator-type machines with or without a wringer, beloved by gardeners for their portability and reasonable price. For example, consider the semi-automatic "Sibir" washing machine, manufactured at a factory in Omsk.
Evgo, a manufacturer located in the Khabarovsk region, also produces automatic washing machines. However, this is only a relatively domestic production, as the components for assembly are supplied by Chinese suppliers.
Important! Quite often, some companies counterfeit popular brands of washing machines and instead of listing the country of manufacture as the country of origin of the brand, they list the country where the machine was assembled.
Peculiarities
The unique characteristics of machine production in the Russian Federation stem from market demand. Buyers of domestic products are interested in the following factors:
- Front loading of laundry;
- Mini cars with medium depth;
- Large load of laundry;
- Energy consumption and efficiency.
Front loading of laundry
Our customers prefer front-loading machines over other machines, and manufacturers are happy to focus their production on them to achieve higher sales.
Only at Ariston can you find Russian-made top-loading washing machines.
The majority of manufacturers are focused on assembling standard equipment.

- With a depth of 0.5 m to 0.55 m, these are manufactured by VEKO, Ariston, Candy, and Atlant. Full-size units are only available from Candy, LG, Atlant, and Ariston.
- Narrow and compact, with a depth of 0.39 to 0.49 m. The most common devices are those with a depth of 0.4 m.
- Ultra-narrow machines, with a depth of 0.33 to 0.36 m. These machines are manufactured by Candy, Antlant, Ariston, VEKO, and Indesit.
True, washing machines with smaller dimensions typically suffer from significant load capacity losses, but our Russian manufacturer has solved this problem. For example, Candy machines with a 0.33 m depth can wash 4.5 kilograms of laundry at a time, while a 0.4 m depth can handle a 7 kg load.
If you're choosing a Russian-made (or rather, assembled) washing machine, choose one that's protected against leaks and power surges. Machines from manufacturers such as Bosch, Ariston, LG, and Indesit feature leak protection. This feature is also present in BEKO and Atlant machines, which also feature protection against power surges.
Energy consumption
Regarding energy consumption, our machines, like European ones, are rated A. Average water consumption is no more than 45 liters. This is achieved not only by reducing the amount of laundry but also by using the latest technologies, such as Smart Technology and Inverter Direct Drive.
Value for money

Statistics show that domestically produced Indesit washing machines, assembled in Russia, are the most frequently repaired. The same fate applies to Russian-made Bosch washing machines, which are much cheaper than German-assembled machines of the same brand. BEKO, Vestel, and Candy also suffered from short service lives.
If we compare the service life of Russian-made machines with others assembled outside of the Russian Federation, we can come to the conclusion that their service life is short.
- Russian-made washing machines, assembled from Chinese-made parts, operate without failure for approximately two years.
- Cars assembled in Russia from German, Italian, and other original parts last approximately five years.
- Completely Chinese machines also last for five years.
- Cars assembled by Koreans or Italians work perfectly for eight years.
- Washing machines assembled by the French and Germans operate without interruption for ten to sixteen years.
- Machines assembled in Sweden or Austria are rightfully considered the most reliable. Their service life can vary, depending on the conditions of use, from approximately fourteen to twenty years.
When purchasing a washing machine, we recommend paying attention to the country of assembly, as in recent years it has become difficult to find original-assembly washing machines of the brands you need. Machines made in China and Russia are currently the cheapest, which is why demand for them is only increasing.
Important: washing machines from renowned brands are assembled not only in Russia, but also in China, Poland, France, and Slovenia. While their quality is difficult to match that of original equipment, they are still superior to Russian-assembled units.
Model overview
To give you a complete picture of what Russian-made (and assembled) washing machines actually are, we'd like to present several models with their main characteristics.

- The price is reasonable – up to 23 thousand rubles.

So, as you can see, among washing machines assembled in Russia, there are some good options at a reasonable price. Of course, it's better to choose imported machines with original assembly, where the process has been thoroughly monitored. However, remember that even expensive appliances can break down.

Well, I've had a Russian-made Indesit for over 5 years now, and I don't think it's any worse than the Chinese one.
The day before yesterday, my 16-year-old Italian-made Indesit WISL 105X EX washing machine started to rustle. Now I'm facing a headache: finding a reliable, affordable machine for under 18,000 rubles.
Given the current situation in the country, sanctions, and so on, which brand of washing machine can I buy so that I don't have problems with repairs later, and can always find spare parts?
