The water in the washing machine keeps filling and draining.

In normal operation, any washing machine can fill and drain water at least twice during one wash: before washing and directly during rinsing.

The total number of cycles is determined by the washing machine's automation and the set time.

It's easy to identify the problem; simply understand that the machine starts filling with water too frequently; this will be the main sign of the problem.

Such immeasurable "greed" of the washing machine in relation to water intake indicates improper installation or some kind of internal breakdown.

In any case, every problem always needs to be addressed. In the worst case, you'll be burdened with constant washing due to an inefficient machine, wasting enormous amounts of water, or your appliance might even break down, flooding your neighbors.

Filling with water

If you have recently installed a washing machine, this may indicate that there were some problems when connecting the machine to the sewer system, and the installation was not carried out correctly.

It is possible that water flows from the tank into the sewer on its own, since the hose is installed below the loading tank. In this case, the device will indicate that there is not enough water and will constantly fill with new water.

How to check if the washing machine is connected correctly?

If the machine is connected normally, the drain hose is located above the tank: It is attached either to a siphon or to a sewer pipe, rising 50-60 cm above the floor.

Therefore, if you feel that a recently connected appliance is drawing in too much water, be sure to check the drain level.
However, there's still a chance you won't be able to see the connection due to other objects in the house. In that case, check this: turn on the machine and wait for the tank to fill with water.

Then turn on the drain and pause while the water drains. And keep an eye on the remaining water: if the drain stops when you press pause, everything is fine. But if the water continues to drain (you'll notice and possibly even hear it), there's a problem with the connection. In this case, it's best to postpone the wash cycle and call a technician to reinstall your washing machine.
But if you've had your machine for a while, and it's been working fine all this time, but suddenly it starts asking for huge amounts of water, then there's an internal problem. Something's broken. Then you need to unplug the appliance, turn off the water supply hose and drain the water using an additional filter.
