The only difference between this type of machine is that these units have a vertical loading form.
At the bottom of the drum is a shaft (pulsator), which creates swirling water flows and jets for washing. A separate component of the activator machine—the nozzle—releases bubbles evenly throughout the drum, thanks in large part to the activator.
Washing machines of this type do not have a heating element, as they are connected to a central water supply for both cold and hot water. A bubble generator vigorously releases bubbles into the drum throughout the wash cycle, effectively removing a variety of stains.

- The water should be as soft as possible. Washing machines of this type have fairly high water hardness requirements due to the washing method;
- Machines of this type may not have the following modes: drain without spin and normal spin;
- The cost is slightly higher than that of conventional devices;
- The dimensions are quite large than, say, conventional drum and activator type machines.
